Phew, where do I even start? I’ll start by telling you all that we are moving! The problem is, we’re not sure where yet. June 1st is the last day of our lease at our current place and it will hopefully be the last time we have a lease. While I am so sad to leave this studio space that I launched my website in and painted my first collection in, I’m excited by the possibilities of what comes next.
We are hoping to buy a home this summer! We’ve been planning since January to begin the home buying process in March. Well, March had other plans! Like many of you, our lives have been greatly affected by COVID-19. As you all know everything shut down, including the mortgage program. So our plans were delayed until recently, we’ve been able to start our search. While it has been exciting to begin looking, it is stressful considering I have not been able to work my day job since March. The idea of spending a ton of money on a home right now is a little daunting but we are believing things will work out. Things have always somehow worked out for us, even if it wasn’t in our timing. We have never been without a roof over our heads with food in our stomach, so I am grateful and confident.
Luckily, Harrison has been able to keep working, but I’d like to be able to contribute as much as I can. So I’m going to do what I do best. I’m going to paint every day that I can, as much as I can. I’ll be offering a painting everyday, whether it is old or fresh off the easel for $35 plus shipping. In the midst of a move and not having a studio, I'm not sure what time and space will allow me as far as painting something new every day. But I will offer a painting no matter what. You will be able to find these paintings on my site under “paint for a living project” in the shop menu. Each painting will be done using watercolor on paper and will either be a landscape, floral, or an abstract.
Thank you all for supporting me and walking through every journey with me. I am so grateful that I can be open and honest about my life with you and share the parts that aren’t always pretty. It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but that is the purpose of community. I hope that through this project, I can spread positivity and bring you all along with me and my family as we make this transition. With all of that said, go ahead and check out the first painting available in the paint for a living project!
